against all advice, we decided to record directly to tape on a 4 track tascam under the guidance of the local analog wizard simply known as - JK. sometimes its nice not looking at a screen (as i stare at my ultrawide 4k monitor 10 inches in front of my sagging face drenched in blue light). we truly focused on playing the best renditions of these songs that we could - isolated from the outside world of 2023. we spent one saturday morning setting up & test tracking, one sunday morning tracking & leveling, & another sunday morning mixing & post-producing - it was a truly surreal experience to say the least. the culmination of our hard work now staring right back at us - via electromagnetic tape, tangible goods - just waiting to be spun on the hifi.

held together. represents a chapter closing for our band - the first chapter. these two songs are some of our favorite songs to play bc of the way they make us feel, draw us closer, & create a space for us to just exist as two conscious human beings enjoying an art form...together, bound by the sonic reverberations of our minds & souls. it is our meditation, our time away from time. though these two songs were conceived completely independently of one another, they are now bunkmates (i wonder who gets the top bunk?) - but they will forever be intwined w one another in the form of this release. now we move on to new & exciting developments in our lives outside of the music - allowing our brains to rest in anticipation for what's next.
